What is in a name. Over the years I have had a lot of nick names. My first one was in bilingual class. I was always the slowest kid in sports, also the smallest, so my nick name at the time was tortuga. I took the nickname is stride and it was never a big deal. I also picked up a nick name of blanco since my hair was fairly white.
In High School my name was so common that I ended up getting the nick name of Dobbie, which was kind of a play on my last name. I liked that one because it fits my personality. Not sure if that would make sense to anyone but that was my nick name. It also followed me when I was on my mission for two years as well as several jobs. Made even more popular by the Harry Potter books since I was called Dobbie the warehouse elf. I spell Dobbie different than the books though.
The last nickname I remember is Hobbelkins. Because I was always hobbling around after ten hours at work and it sounded like a cool Hobbit kind of Name.
This just my musing on nicknames I have had nothing too fancy.
