Day 2 of 30 day Challenge.

OK. It is Day 2 of my 30 Day Challenge.  I forgot to post a weigh in yesterday to see if it would make a difference by not drinking Soda. Currently at 211 lbs.
Did I make it with out drinking soda? Check.  Did I do my one mile walk? Check. Yes I did read my scriptures also.
Did have a little bit of a head ache and I was also tempted to get a coke because I was so tired but I avoided it. Any ways that is my report for today.

30 day challenge.

OK. Sometimes you need to take a step bake and see how you can make a few tweaks to your life for better results.  I am in that position right now.
I have given myself a 30 day challenge that includes a few tweaks.
1. No soda for 30 days.
2. One mile brisk walk daily.
3. Try to be consistent in my scripture reading.
There are other things I could focus on but these are the big 3 I want to try for thirty days. I am counting today as the start date even though yesterday I stopped the soda. This counts as 2 days with out Soda. I did do a mile walk today also. Scriptures I will read tonight before I go to bed. I will count this as a successful day today and I can say I accomplished something.
There are also some other things I have done today. I did go through a lot of stuff to trash or otherwise put in a proper place.  I did brush my teeth which is not always an easy thing for me to remeber to do today and I also worked out besides the walk I did. Eating still needs a little work though but that is a side issue.

05/29/2019
Maybe I need to start this up again as a form of therapy.  Too many things are starting to fill up the bucket so to speak. Yesterday was a good example. I asked several times for a break after lunch one time I was told I just needed to get this one person done and I could go. At the time no one was behind her but then while helping the customer several more show up so no break. Then I think I can take one before I go home. I make a quick run and Get food claims dumped then One cart of GM claims.  I get back up front to drop the cart off and a fill in CSM, who will go nameless unless I talk to a manger above her or HR, decides I need to help a customer instead so my least 15 minutes are standing around waiting for a cashier to get this gal rung up. Knee was killing me and I was in a very grumpy mood. By the time I helped the customer out and got back to the store I was 5 minutes over. So some where i need to take a 15 minute break and didn't get one. 4 and a half hours strait no break. UGGGHHHH

Names

What is in a name.  Over the years I have had a lot of nick names.  My first one was in bilingual class. I was always the slowest kid in sports, also the smallest, so my nick name at the time was tortuga.  I took the nickname is stride and it was never a big deal.  I also picked up a nick name of blanco since my hair was fairly white.
In High School my name was so common that I ended up getting the nick name of Dobbie, which was kind of a play on my last name.  I liked that one because it fits my personality.  Not sure if that would make sense to anyone but that was my nick name.  It also followed me when I was on my mission for two years as well as several jobs.  Made even more popular by the Harry Potter books since I was called Dobbie the warehouse elf. I spell Dobbie different than the books though.
The last nickname I remember is Hobbelkins.  Because I was always hobbling around after ten hours at work and it sounded like a cool Hobbit kind of Name.
This just my musing on nicknames I have had nothing too fancy.

Getting Older is not for the faint of heart that is for sure.  I turned 50 this year and that has been just one of many things that have happened in my life.  Earlier in the year I had my Second Arterial Fibrillation since living in Utah.  This resulted in looking into getting an ablation on the heart to try re channel the way my heart sends electrical impulses.
I am LDS and recently I was asked to serve as Secretary to the High Priest Group Leadership.  In order to accept this calling I was also advanced from the office of Elder to High Priest.  This has been very humbling.  I am hoping to be better about serving others for in service we can find our greatest joy.
I will try to be better about posting but who knows.  I guess sometimes it might not be a bad idea to use this as a means of therapy for me.  I have been struggling a bit lately with anxiety to the point it was a bit more visible to some of my work associates.

Small Catch Up

I know it has been a while since I have posted anything here.  Life continues at a slow pace for me.  I work.  I take time to drive Lisa around the valley just to get her away from TV.  I also do my best to fight off my anxiety attacks and depression.  SO many triggers but not sure where I would start.
The best thing I can do though at the moment is to just do my best to pray and read the scriptures.  Sometimes it helps sometimes not as much as I would like it to but I do my best to muddle through those moments.

Small Miracles

Today was Stake Conference and we had an Area Authority visiting.  It is sad that for the life of me I cannot remember his name but he did have a very commanding presence.
The meeting started off with the release of President Stauss who was 1st Councelor and then President Sommers went from 2nd to 1st Counselor.  They then called a new 2nd.  His Name is Martin Mueller.
President Johnson Talked about church funds and the various categories and how they are blessing people.  There were some testimonies give by The Temple and Mission Presidents and their wives. The last talk was given by Elder (I want to say Hansen).  He talked about many different things but the thing that caught me was the last part.  He was offering a blessing to those that would take the time to read from the scriptures blessings that would help each of in our own way.
The thing I wanted to bring up was this.  When I got up Sunday morning  my plantar fasciitis was hurting like crazy.  When I was at the meeting it stopped hurting and I was able to concentrate on the talks.  I was also not sleepy which usually I dose.  To me these are small miracles.
